INS 15th World Congress Barcelona

<div class="ct-inner-content" id="inner_content-397-2974"><div class="wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-2/5"> <div class="vc_column-inner"> <div class="wpb_wrapper"> <h2 class="vc_custom_heading">INS 2022: "Neuromodulation: From Scientific Theory to Revolutionary Therapy”</h2> <div class="wpb_text_column wpb_content_element"> <div class="wpb_wrapper"> <p>I am honored to welcome you to the 15^th World Congress of the International Neuromodulation Society – “Neuromodulation: From Scientific Theory to Revolutionary Therapy”. This theme intends to emphasize that. Neuromodulation therapies from deep brain stimulation for movement disorders, epilepsy, and psychiatric disorders, to spinal cord stimulation for chronic pain and locomotion, to sacral nerve stimulation for urinary and fecal incontinence, have all developed from rigorous scientific theory and have matured into proven clinical therapies. No longer considered mysterious or unproven, neuromodulation therapies now have a strong underpinning in scientific theory which has led to rigorous studies of mechanisms of action. These have ultimately led to the refinement and personalization of neuromodulation techniques. We intend to explore this in both depth and breadth at our conference here in Barcelona, Spain.</p> <p>Dr. Fabian Piedimonte, Dr. Elliot Krames, and I have worked to create a fascinating world-class, fascinating program that includes plenary sessions from experts from around the world, breakout symposia, panel discussions, oral abstract presentations, and poster sessions. These cover the basic science, mechanisms of action, and clinical effectiveness of the broad range of neuromodulation therapies. For our patients and the press, there is a Public Education Program. For those who wish to improve their neuromodulation techniques, the INS cadaver workshop will offer hands-on training in multiple neuromodulation procedures. For nurses and allied health practitioners we will run an interactive workshop entitled ‘The Patient Journey to Neuromodulation”. Our pre-conference, Innovations in Neuromodulation Day – Neuromodulation without Borders – will address innovation in neuromodulation from a regional perspective and will present a window to the future of our field. Our other pre-conference on Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation allows for a deep dive into this increasingly impactful area of neuromodulation.</p> <p>With strong basic science, engineering, and clinical science sections, the program spans the breadth of our rapidly growing field of neuromodulation. This promises to be the most important international neuromodulation meeting in years. <div class="ct-inner-content" id="inner_content-397-2974"><p>Dear Friends and Colleagues,</p> <p>I am proud to announce the 12th Congress of the European Pain Federation EFIC® will be held in Dublin, Ireland from 27-30 April 2022. As Europe´s most important multi-disciplinary and multi-professional organisation in the field of pain science, we represent 37 constituent national pain societies with over 20,000 scientists, doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals. Our core domains of activity focus on education, research and advocacy.</p> <p>On behalf of the Federation it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the most prestigious and largest pain meeting in 2022. Under the theme of ‘Targeting pain and its co-morbidities in the digital age” we are planning an ambitious programme of lectures, workshops, refresher courses and networking initiatives on acute, chronic, cancer and non-cancer pain. In addition to the latest developments in basic science, we will focus on pain management from the primary care physician’s perspective, as well as multimodal interdisciplinary care.</p> <p>Professor Eija Kalso is leading an excellent, broad-based Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) building the in-person and virtual programme that will include established internationally known scientists, as well as younger fellows and postdocs. GLOBAL MIGRAINE AND PAIN SUMMIT 2020

<div class="ct-inner-content" id="inner_content-397-2974"> <h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Dear Colleagues,</strong></h4> <p><strong>Global Migraine and Pain Summit, 4th MENA Conference and 2th Turkish African Headache and Pain Management Meeting</strong> will be for the first time in Turkey by the Global Pain and Migraine Society<strong> (KMAD)</strong> in the <strong>VIRTUAL EVENT PLATFORM</strong> within <strong>globalmigraine-pain.com</strong> at <strong>October 28-30, 2020</strong>.</p> <p>As the most commonly occurring type of pain, the developmental, biopsychosocial and multi-cultural aspects of headache are immediately clear to all clinicians in our field of study. Focused and interactive meetings greatly enhance our research capabilities as well as widening our clinical perspective. This was illustrated most recently by our Pan-Africa meeting in Istanbul and the previous MENA meetings. For this summit, we have focused on solutions that will allow our colleagues from Eastern Europe and Asia, who were previously unable to attend due to limited resources, to join us. This wide geographical range was made possible mainly by the support of IHS, as well as the endorsement of EHF and EAN.
