International Symposium On Pediatric Pain 2023

The ISPP 2023 theme is Better Together, Innovation Through Partnerships. Under the direction of the Scientific Program Committee, led by Jennifer Rabbitts and Julia Wager, there will be rigorous science, real-life stories, and knowledge sharing to build capacity in the pediatric pain community. We hope to foster partnerships and innovation through joint learning of the best international research. Attendees will learn from innovative leaders in pediatric pain science, clinical care, and those with lived experiences through keynote plenary lectures, concurrent sessions, and workshops. The theme for education day will be knowledge mobilization, taking knowledge outside the box. This will feature exciting new approaches to knowledge mobilization, leveraging partnerships, and creative engagement with diverse stakeholders to ensure research findings are put into practice and can benefit patients, their families, and the health professionals that care for them. The workshops will include tools and strategies researchers and others can use to maximize their work. ISPP 2023 will be co-hosted by the Center for Pediatric Pain Research and Solutions for Kids in Pain, in partnership with Discover Halifax.

World Congress of the World Institute of Pain on 25-27 August 2022! We remain optimistic that conditions will be stable enough to allow us all to gather in person next summer in Budapest. While we plan to make the core content of this World Congress available in digital format, we are hopeful that we can all participate face-to-face in this important educational event in one of WIP’s “hometowns!” I am pleased to introduce the Chairs of the Scientific Program Committee, who are working to compose an excellent program around the theme of “Innovation and Change in Pain Management.” This committee, led by Co-Chairs Drs. Miles Day, Monique Steegers, Carl Noe, Fabricio Dias Assis and Yu-Chuan Tsai, will assist Congress Chair Prof. Gabor Racz in designing the premier event in Interventional Pain education in 2022! As always, we very much appreciate the invaluable support of our industry partners for the WIP educational mission. INS 15th World Congress Barcelona

INS 2022: "Neuromodulation: From Scientific Theory to Revolutionary Therapy” I am honored to welcome you to the 15th World Congress of the International Neuromodulation Society – “Neuromodulation: From Scientific Theory to Revolutionary Therapy”. This theme intends to emphasize that. Neuromodulation therapies from deep brain stimulation for movement disorders, epilepsy, and psychiatric disorders, to spinal cord stimulation for chronic pain and locomotion, to sacral nerve stimulation for urinary and fecal incontinence, have all developed from rigorous scientific theory and have matured into proven clinical therapies. No longer considered mysterious or unproven, neuromodulation therapies now have a strong underpinning in scientific theory which has led to rigorous studies of mechanisms of action. These have ultimately led to the refinement and personalization of neuromodulation techniques. We intend to explore this in both depth and breadth at our conference here in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Fabian Piedimonte, Dr. Elliot Krames, and I have worked to create a fascinating world-class, fascinating program that includes plenary sessions from experts from around the world, breakout symposia, panel discussions, oral abstract presentations, and poster sessions. These cover the basic science, mechanisms of action, and clinical effectiveness of the broad range of neuromodulation therapies. For our patients and the press, there is a Public Education Program. For those who wish to improve their neuromodulation techniques, the INS cadaver workshop will offer hands-on training in multiple neuromodulation procedures. For nurses and allied health practitioners we will run an interactive workshop entitled ‘The Patient Journey to Neuromodulation”. Our pre-conference, Innovations in Neuromodulation Day – Neuromodulation without Borders – will address innovation in neuromodulation from a regional perspective and will present a window to the future of our field. Our other pre-conference on Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation allows for a deep dive into this increasingly impactful area of neuromodulation. With strong basic science, engineering, and clinical science sections, the program spans the breadth of our rapidly growing field of neuromodulation. This promises to be the most important international neuromodulation meeting in years. After this unprecedented time, it is with great excitement and humility that the Executive Board Members, Scientific, and Congress Co-Chairs, and I welcome you to Barcelona!

Dear Friends and Colleagues, I am proud to announce the 12th Congress of the European Pain Federation EFIC® will be held in Dublin, Ireland from 27-30 April 2022. As Europe´s most important multi-disciplinary and multi-professional organisation in the field of pain science, we represent 37 constituent national pain societies with over 20,000 scientists, doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals. Our core domains of activity focus on education, research and advocacy. On behalf of the Federation it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the most prestigious and largest pain meeting in 2022. Under the theme of ‘Targeting pain and its co-morbidities in the digital age” we are planning an ambitious programme of lectures, workshops, refresher courses and networking initiatives on acute, chronic, cancer and non-cancer pain. In addition to the latest developments in basic science, we will focus on pain management from the primary care physician’s perspective, as well as multimodal interdisciplinary care. Professor Eija Kalso is leading an excellent, broad-based Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) building the in-person and virtual programme that will include established internationally known scientists, as well as younger fellows and postdocs. We all value the benefit of personal networking, and in Dublin you will once again be able to meet old friends, and hopefully develop new collaborative networks. A comprehensive Industrial Exhibition, and sponsored Satellite Symposia, will perfectly complement the scientific content.
